Lizzie loves to play with American Girl dolls and read books.  She wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up! Our wonderful Star Student is a fantastic reader, too, which makes sense because one of her favorite subjects in school is library! We love having Lizzie in our class

Gail Gibbons is a non-fiction author who lives in Corinth, Vermont. She loves to write children's books about cool and interesting facts. Ms. Gibbons even sell products that go along with her books. For example, you can order delicious maple syrup from the Goose Green company she, her husband and their friend own. Mmmmmmmm - yummy! Visit Gail Gibbons' website at www.gailgibbons.com.

2GC Welcomes the Blue Morpho Butterfly - "Blue Pikachu"

Picture
Chloe, our Star of the Week for 1/9/12, is holding the newest member of our class - the Blue Morpho butterfly. We voted on the name of this new class pet - it's Blue Pikachu. Our butterly is a great addition to our room. We love to watch it flutter and flap around it's home. Welcome, Blue Pikachu!

Jordynn gives 2GC a vote of confidence that they'll do a great job in 3rd grade

Picture
Jordynn, from Mrs. DeTrolio's class, shared her thoughts about what it's like to be in 3rd grade. She encouraged our 2nd grade class by telling them it's important to learn your addition and subtraction math facts in 2nd grade so they'll do a great job with their multiplication and division in 3rd grade. Jordynn also gave our 2nd grade students a vote of confidence by telling them 3rd grade is a lot of fun and that the best way to think about moving on the next grade is it's just the next step in elementary school. Jordynn loves coming to visit 2GC because she was in Mrs. Goodnick's class last year and is Dr. Connell's daughter!

Sign up to be a Mystery Reader for our class!
What's a Mystery Reader? A parent who "secretly" signs up to read a book to our class. You can read a book of your own or choose one from our class library. Shhhhhh - it's a secret!
